GENESIS
Sri Krishna Ashramam was established in 1938 by Sri Sri Sitarama Yateendrulu varu, perceived by many as re-incarnation of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who in turn was an incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu, descended on earth to spread prema-bhakti in this world.
The glory of Sri Sri Sitarama Yateendrulu is beyond description. He used to be in divine trance while singing the name of God and used to dance in ecstasy of super consciousness diffusing waves of Bhakti into the hearts of people around . This maha nrutya sankirtana was a sight for Gods to see.
His teachings are incorporated in the famous 'Yatindralekhalu'. Amrutha Vahini, a commentary on Bhagavad Gita has flown from this Divine personality along with a lucid commentary on Narada Bhakti sutras. 'Mathura Vani ' , a series of poems in praise of Lord Krishna is the Magnum Opus of Prema Bhakti only comparable with Thiruvoymozhi of Sri Nammalwar.
Out of his boundless mercy and love for the people he established the Mumukshuvu Jana Maha Peetham for uplifting ordinary souls towards the Divine.
Sri Sri Lakshmana Yeteendrula varu, as a worthy successor to the peetham, most vigorously and with a dynamic spirit continued the propagation of the message by organising mega events like 'Sri Lakshmi Narayana Maha Kratu', 'Sri Sudarshana Maha Kratu', 'Koti Nama Smarana Yagam' and 'Maha Anna Samaradhana' for 1,40,000 people at a time. Dhanurmasa mahotstavam was conducted with great eclat across the state, spreading the flavor of bhakti among lakhs of people.
With a broad and deeply loving heart, Sri Lakshmana Yateendrulu embraced people of all sects and clans and distributed the nectar of love and devotion. His great literary and devotional works like 'Rasadhuni', 'Kwanatkinkini','Chaitanya Prabha' have created waves in the world of telugu literature further spreading the bhakti sampradaya for all times.
Sri Krishna Ashramam - pedamuttevi is continuing the legacy of the great masters.
The present peetadhipathi, Sri Sitarama Gurudevulu is graciously guiding and leading this divine service through various activities.
